Situated in Luzern, Switzerland, Jonathan Tuckey Design outlines the appointment of an internal redevelopment in the shared lobby area of Four-Forest School. The lobby will see use of the double height space with a ‘tree-house’ providing an insular aedicule to house the school’s books and break-out activities. The free-standing structure will provide a new environment for the school library, disrupting the current volume into a series of smaller, retreating spaces. These series of photos present the school building and interior setting which will house our ‘tree-house’.
The additional floor sits like a low hanging canopy for the congregation of students below to read or for break-out activities. The structure amassed with shelving for books, storage and seating provide insulation from the thoroughfare of the school bustle.
