Jonathan Tuckey Design have been appointed to renovate a pair of 19th Century buildings on Hans Road in Knightsbridge. Situated on the opposite side of the road to the Harrods department store, the Grade II listed buildings are Voysey’s only terraced houses and serve as wonderful examples of the Arts and Crafts style. Exhibiting a greater inheritance of the Arts and Crafts, Nos. 14 and 16 Hans Road stand as a single building, internally connected at each level. Completed by Mackmurdo after a dispute between the client and Voysey, the original architect, No. 12 stands apart in its elevational appearance and internal layout, and functions more independently as a business centre.

Currently occupied by Dorrington, the refurbishment will upgrade the existing office spaces and introduce new shared amenities. The renovation will explore the idea of returning the layout once more in line with its original 19th Century plan, adapted for its new modern use. New kitchens and bathrooms will be added, and the lower ground floor will serve a new function as a communal dining hall, kitchen, and gym that connects the two buildings.
