Design for the renovation of new office spaces within a row of Grade II listed 19th Century buildings by C.F.A Voysey and Mackmurdo progresses, with the focus on recapturing the original expression of the Arts & Crafts that were lost in changes of use throughout the last decades. The refurbishment, which includes an update to the existing office spaces as well as new kitchens, bathrooms and shared amenities will return parts of the layout to its original 19th Century plan whilst being adapted to its new modern use and allowing more generous daylighting. In a search to reintegrate the buildings’ original character, the latest site visit focused on the testing and exploration of colour through Voysey’s delicate watercolour patterns and the adoption of several colour palettes through the complimentary tones found in his countryside inspired wallpapers.
