Greifensee Cultural Centre – Switzerland

The Griefensee Cultural Centre is located by the UNESCO protected lakeside site in Switzerland. The proposed building houses a new cultural centre that links the town square to the lakeside.

The centre plays an important role as a backdrop for the civic life of Griefensee and its vibrant calendar of social activities. The centre forms the partial reuse of the existing structure and the new construction of halls of differing character stages for musical performances expressed in a high performing CLT frame.

A traditional pitched roof forms the new Landenberghaus Saal within the existing stonewalls of the old Landenberghaus. Together with the dramatic presence of the adjacent Schloss, this structure creates a gateway from the town to the natural landscape beyond.

Das Landenberghaus und das Pfarrhaus stehen Wand-an-Wand auf dem Hauptplatz von Greifensee. Neben dem imposanten historischen Schlossgebäude gelegen, sollen sie ein neues Kulturzentrum beherbergen, dass das urbane Interieur des Hauptplatzes mit dem natürlichen Zauber der Seepromenade verbindet und das Gemeindeleben mit einem immer umfangreicheren Kulturangebot unter einem Dach vereint.

Unser Konzept umfasst eine Reihe von unterschiedlichen Räumen und Sälen, das Altes in Form von renovierten Räumen mit neuerrichteten Räumlichkeiten verbindet. Zudem soll ein neuer Großer Saal für Musikaufführungen entstehen. Der neue Landenberghaus Saal soll ein traditionelles Giebeldach erhalten, allerdings wird dieses um 90° gedreht und innerhalb der Steinmauerns des alten Landenberghauses errichtet.  So entsteht ein neues Objekt am Hauptplatz, das gemeinsam mit dem nahegelegenen Schloss ein Tor von der Stadt zur Naturlandschaft hinter dem Ort bildet.
